In-Home Veterinarian Quality of Life Consultations, Exams & Assessments For Pets
If you are worried about your pet and believe that his or her quality of life may be in question, we can provide an in-home exam to assess their current health and create a plan for them moving forward.

Having your pet thoroughly examined by Dr. Lee can reveal a lot and will enable her to come up with the best plan possible for their quality of life.
- One Hour Long Consultation (Virtual or In-Person): Dr. Lee will provide tools and guidance to help you make a decision for when it your beloved pet's time. The consultation is a thorough discussion of your pet's quality of life and providing information for how to make a decision when his or her time comes. She will also prepare you for what to expect when it is your pet's time.
- Review of Medical History: Dr. Lee will thoroughly review all medical history prior to the quality of life consultation.
- Quality of Life Scores: Accurately assessing your pet's current quality of life score will help us to learn which stage he or she is actually experiencing.
- Pain Medication: In most cases, we can make your pet more comfortable by reducing the amount of pain he or she may be experiencing. Please note that Dr. Lee does not carry any medications with her but can write a written prescription or can use your regular vet clinic as an acting pharmacy (subject to their discretion)
- Physical Exam: Dr. Lee will perform a gentle physical exam as long as your pet is comfortable and not stressed.
- Written Prescriptions: Dr. Lee can provide written prescriptions or use your regular vet as an acting pharmacy (subject to her and their discretion)
- Follow up phone calls, emails and/ or texts : Continued support afterwards.

It’s not always obvious when to reach out. Many families notice one or more of these changes first:
- Your pet has stopped eating or drinking normally
- A noticeable decline in their usual routines or personality
- Signs of pain, confusion, or reduced mobility
- You're simply unsure and want a compassionate, professional opinion
Common Questions About In-Home Consultations
How long does an in-home consultation take?
Most consultations take about an hour, though some take a little longer. There’s no rush. Dr. Lee will review your pet’s medical history beforehand, do a gentle exam if your pet is comfortable, and take the time to answer all your questions. Consultations can be in person at your home or virtual.
What should I have ready before the visit?
There’s very little you need to prepare. A few things that can help:
- Your pet’s medical records. Dr. Lee reviews your pet’s history before the visit, so with your permission she’ll request records from your regular vet ahead of time.
- A list of your current medications your pet is on, if any.
- Notes on what you’ve noticed. Changes in eating, sleeping, mobility or mood, and how the good days compare to the harder ones. Even a few lines on your phone helps.
- Your questions. Nothing is too small to ask.
- A quiet, comfortable spot where your pet feels at ease, so the exam can be as gentle as possible.
How much does an in-home consultation cost?
The cost depends on whether the consultation is in person or virtual, and where you live in the GTA. Reach out and Dr. Lee will give you a clear price before booking, so there are no surprises.
